We’ve all had the unpleasant experience of trying to reach tech support, or your credit card company or phone company, only to get “jailed” in an unhelpful voice response system. What does it take to get a human on the line?

Well the nice folks at gethuman.com have compiled a list of many businesses and their support numbers, along with the magic codes you need to press to get a real, live human being on the line.

Some of them are just “bang on zero repeatedly”, but a few are quite intricate—like something out of the Da Vinci code. It would appear that those companies really just aren’t that interested in you, and really don’t want you to get through.

A few notable companies just have real people answer the phone right off the bat.
