Enterprise Integration with Ruby

05/18/2006

If you didn’t jump on board the beta program, now’s your chance to pick up Enterprise Integration with Ruby as a real printed book (and PDF, of course).

As I read through the final draft of this book, I was really impressed at how far Ruby has come in the last couple of years. When Dave and I started writing the first edition of Programming Ruby, there weren’t all that many third-party libraries and such. If you wanted to connect to an LDAP server, or work with XML documents, or use SOAP, REST or that sort of thing, your options were limited to non-existent.

But that’s all changed now. All that stuff is available, and it’s become quite easy to glue together all these different applications and technologies that you (and your company) now rely on.

Congratulations to Maik Schmidt on a really great book.
