Well it’s that time again, I’ve got a couple of manuscripts and I need some folks to read them over and give the authors detailed comments on what you like, what you don’t like, and what’s missing/confusing/etc.
Here are your choices:
- Practices of an Agile Developer By Venkat Subramaniam and Andy Hunt. I need 2 people who have never done an Agile project, and 2 who are trying to teach others.
- Interface Oriented Design by Ken Pugh. If you’ve never felt entirely comfortable with OO design, or patterns, I’d like to hear from you. If you think your design skills could use a few new tricks, I’d like to hear from you.
- Software Estimation by Bob Galen. Software planning and estimation seems like one of those heavy-water topics reserved for large, doomed projects. But Bob says you can be very successful if you use the best ideas from from the heavy methods and the best ideas from the Agile community. If your environment requires estimation and planning, I’d like to hear from you—if you’re really good at it, and if you’ve tried and had problems. I’d like at least one manager who has never tried to estimate or plan a large project before.
If you’re interested, please drop me an email to andy at pragmaticbookshelf.com.
thanks!
