So we had a youngish babysitter the other night who asked us a very interesting question:

“Mr. Hunt, why does your kitchen phone have a cord? Is it to keep people from stealing it?”

Of course, that’s the only purpose for cords. Like the pens at the bank, the cords are just there to keep the device from wandering off.

Why else would you need a cord? :-)
