A Pragmatic Project Done Right

04/06/2005

Don’t you get sick and tired of reading about failed software projects? It seems that’s all we ever hear about (and certainly what most people directly experience).

Well I’m please to say that I found one team locally that is really doing it right, and in an extremely challenging domain. You may have read my quick blurb here about Zenph studios - the folks building concert-quality MIDI files from scatchy old analog recordings. I’ve posted a full-length article describing their tools and methodologies, entitled A Pragmatic Project: Live in Concert up on pragmaticprogrammer.com.

But I’d like to know from all of you if you find this sort of thing helpful and/or enjoyable. We’ve come across a number of teams who really have their act together. If you’d like to hear more about these teams and how they do it, or you’d like to nominate a team for an interview, please drop me a line.
