Bank of America loses 1.2M identities
02/24/2005
According to a story on ABC News, Bank of America (a fairly large bank in these parts, as in the BIGGEST) lost data tapes containing very personal details of 1.2 million people, including some U.S. Senators.
Visa card numbers, social security numbers—it’s all there. Ripe for the taking. According to the article, the bank “issued an apology” for the inexplicable loss of such sensitive data.
