Authorize.Net Victim of Extortion

COMPUTERWORLD is reporting that Authorize.net received an extortion note before the massive, distributed denial-of-service attack was launched against them.

They seem to have the situation under control, somewhat, although sporadic outages and problems may still happen for us and the other 91,000 merchants who use Authorize.net.

Looks like it’s the Wild West all over again, and this time e-commerce is the stage coach…
